Kg Mata-Mata Grouse Of Potholes Falls On Deaf Ears

Bandar Seri Begawan - Residents of Kg Mata-Mata in Gadong said the bad condition in certain areas of the village road has yet to see any improvement even after the problem has been highlighted several times in the media.

"We plead for whoever responsible to repair our road as the potholes are not getting smaller by the day. With the festivity around the corner, the road will again be heavily used by many motorists outside the area who will visit their relatives in the village. Therefore we are hoping, if it is not too late, to repair the road during this Hari Raya for the comfort of motorists in and outside the -village even though it has not been repaired for a long time," they said.

They said it does not matter who repairs it so long as they do not need to undergo the bad experience anymore. "Please make our life comfortable by repairing the road," they said. Earlier on, residents said the damage was done by heavy vehicles of construction companies which used the roads enroute to their sites in the village.

Meanwhile, the Road Section of Public Works Department (PWD), Ministry of Development earlier stated that all complaints about road conditions can be forwarded to its office at the Old Airport in Berakas. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
