Religious Ceremony At Kg Sg Besar Mosque

Bandar Seri Begawan - A khatam al-Quran closing ceremony was held recently at the Kg Sg Besar Mosque in Mukim Mentiri organised by its Takmir Committee.

The function commenced with a recital of the Al-Fatihah led by Imam Hj Shamsol Hj Abd Latif followed by a reading of the Khatam al-Quran and Tahlil by Hj Nawi Ahmad.

Present as the guest of honour was the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Ustaz Hj Badaruddin Pengarah Dato Hj Othman.

Also in attendance were officers from the Ministry of Religious Affairs' Mosque Affairs Department and residents of Kg Sg Besar.

'Duit Raya' was also presented to 14 orphans by the chief guest and the event ended with a Wakaf (hearse) presentation and a Doa Selamat read by Imam Hj Shamsol Hj Abd Latif. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
