Festive Cheer For 150 Orphans

Bandar Seri Begawan - Smiles were on the faces of 150 orphans yesterday as they received cash donations during a ceremony held at 1GS College, Seri Kenangan Complex.

Present to hand over the donation was Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports cum guest of honour Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Dewa Major General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Haji Mohammad bin Hj Daud.

Following the presentation of donations, the orphans were invited to break fast in the company of others.

Also in attendance were Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Paduka Awang Hj Jemat bin Hj Ampal and Department of Community Development Director Datin Hajah Adina bte Othman.

The breaking of fast and the cash donations were made possible by charitable individuals hoping to bring festive cheers to the orphans.

Hua Ho Department Store and OKKY Jewellery were also involved in the offering of donations to the orphans. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
