NDP Holds ‘Tahlil' At Royal Mausoleum

Bandar Seri Begawan - Some 50 members of the National Development Party (NDP) took advantage of the blessed month of Ramadhan by offering prayers to His Majesty's late parents - Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa' adul Khairi Waddien andAl-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit - at the Royal Mausoleum, Mile 1, Jalan Tutong Saturday morning.

Led by NDP President Yasin Affandy, it was also participated by Deputy President Mahmud Morshidi Othman, Secretary-General Hj Aminorashid Hj Ghazali and members of the Executive Council.

The recital of 'Surah Yaasin' and `Tahlil' was led by one of the guardians of the Royal Mausoleum. At the end of the ceremony, members led by the president and deputy president poured scented water or "aing asah-asahan" over the graves.

According to the mausoleum's guardian, as many as four or five groups representing government ministries and departments, private companies, non-governmental organisations and clubs have been taking turns to hold the religious activities on a daily basis during the fasting none". -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
