PEMODA Holds Sungkai Ride

Bandar Seri Begawan - PEMODA, the Brunei Darussalam Motorcycle Association, organised a "Sungkai Ride" on Saturday evening at the Brunei Shell Recreational Club in conjunction with the month of Ramadhan.

The Sungkai Ride was part of the association's annual activities since the body was formed in 1996.

More than 90 PEMODA bikers attended the Sungkai Ride and created attention in the district with members from other districts convoyed to Belait to break their fast together.

The Sungkai Ride was to establish closer ties among members, where a sungkai buffet was held at BSRC, Panaga. The event was not restricted to Muslim members as all non-Muslim bikers were invited.

PEMODA remains to be the only registered motorcyclists association in the Sultanate actively engaged in various activities. The association has been successful in uniting high-powered big-bike users and owners in the Sultanate with members now numbering more than 450 riders from various age groups and walks of life. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
