COPA Lively Set For Raya Show On
RTB

Begawan - COPA Lively, an established local dance troupe
formerly known as "Lively Dancers", are set for the upcoming RTB Hari
Raya programme.
The programme called "Masam-Masam
Manis" will be aired on RTB in time for Hari Raya celebrations.
As one of the most active local
cultural dance troupe in the country, led by Tizan Hj Jamuddin, the
dancers have been practicing regularly since last month to prepare for
the programme.
According to a senior dancer, Ramlah
Hj Sarbini, over 20 participants aged 18 years and above from the
group are; involved in the rehearsals, which are held at least two
hours, four times d week.
Meanwhile a group, comprising of
around 40 talented and promising young individuals, ranging from eight
to 24 years of age, are also actively participating in cultural dance
shows backed by the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Sports.
Such involvements in various cultural
events will develop more promising young choreographers, who will
pursue and preserve the traditional dance heritage of the Sultanate.
Their roles and participations have
been seen in a number of major events in the country and overseas like
Apec 2000, Anugerah Radio for 2001-2002, Sukma Irama 2002 in
Singapore, annual National Day celebrations, Commonwealth Gala Night
2003 and Tarik Kalat Borneo 2003.
With the support from the ministry,
these lucky individuals are also able to expose their talents overseas
in programmes such as the Festival of Arts in Kuala Lumpur, Cambodia,
