Big Plans For 10,000 Scouts

Begawan - The Brunei Darussalam National Scouts Association is
aiming to have 10,000 members and the association's president has
called on every member to continue their efforts to provide exposure
to scout activities and highlight the benefits of being a scout to the
public.
The National Scouts Council under the
Brunei Darussalam National Scouts Association held its annual general
meeting yesterday morning at its headquarters in Jalan Gadong.
Chairing the meeting was Pehin Dato
Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Ali Bin Hj Md Daud, the President of the Brunei
Darussalam National Scouts Association. Also present were Pehin Dato
Seri Paduka Dr Hj Hussain Hj Mohd Yusof, the Chief of Scouts, as well
as members of the council together with leaders of Rover Scouts, a
scout unit that was just formed this year.
The annual general meeting was held
to give an opportunity to members of the council to explain the
association's future plans and current developments. It also gave an
opportunity to scout leaders and members of the council to give
proposals and explanations on the association's activities that had
taken place in the year 2006.
Pehin
Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Ali, in his welcoming remarks, said every
member of the association has the responsibility to work together to
achieve the objective of the association, which is to have 10,000
members.
The meeting also focused on issues
from minutes of the previous annual general meeting, annual reports of
the association as well as reports on finance and budget for 2007.
The annual general meeting also saw
the election of deputy president, executive committee members of
Brunei Darussalam National Scouts Association for 2006-2007, and
council members of the Brunei Darussalam National Scouts Association
