Cultures Youth And Sports Ministry Marks Nuzul Al-Quran

Bandar Seri Begawan - In conjunction with this year's Nuzul AlQuran celebration, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports organised a gathering to commemorate the event.

The guest of honour at the function was the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Pehin Major General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Hj Mohammad bin Hj Daud. Also present were officials and staff of the ministry.

The event was held at the Dewan Di Gadong, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

It began with the reading of al-Quran followed by a speech from the chairman of the event, Dr Mohd Hadi bin Mohd Melayong, who is Acting Principal of History Centre, and a religious talk on Nuzul Al-Quran by an invited speaker.

The month of Ramadhan, the ninth month in the Islamic calendar, is the month when Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) received his first revelation from Allah. It is also the month when a number of significant events including fasting, Nuzul AlQuran, Lailatul Qadar as well as Zakat and Fitrah take place. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
