Three Jailed For Stealing Sliding Windows, Doors

Bandar Seri Begawan - Two locals and a permanent resident were sentenced to jail yesterday following their guilty pleas towards a charge of theft earlier on Thursday in the Bandar Magistrate's Court.

Hj Wahab bin Hj Yahya, 35, was sent to jail for a month, while 30-yearold Hazlin bin Abdul Kadir was jailed for two months and Ak Mohd Hasbi Shiddqy bin Pg Yekop, 28, got a month's imprisonment.

The court heard from DPP Nor Hafizah Ahmad that all three defendants are unemployed and had stolen 17 pieces of sliding windows and 2 sliding doors from a house under construction at around Kg Mentiri on the morning of October 2.

From investigations, police successfully arrested them on October 11 at the scrap metal yard in Kg Serasa.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
