Brunei-Muara District Office Holds 'Tedarus'

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Brunei-Muara District Office yesterday held a 'tedarus' (mass recitation of al-Quran) ceremony at the Sultan Sharif Ali Mosque in Sengkurong. Present as guest of honour at the ceremony was the Brunei-Muara District Officer, Dato Paduka Hj Md Yusof bin Bakar.

Also present were the Assistant BruneiMuara District Officer, Awg Jemain bin Momirt, senior staff of the BruneiMuara District Office, Penghulu-penghulu Mukim and Ketua-ketua Kampong, residents from the nearby areas as well members of the mosque's takmir committee. The activity began after the Asar prayer and continued on till the mass Maghrib prayer.

The event was jointly organised by the committee members of the village council of Sengkurong A and B as well as members of the Sultan Sharif Ali Mosque Takmir committee.

The Brunei-Muara District Office will also be holding a Khatam al-Quran ceremony, today, at the Jerudong Mosque where donations will be made to orphans.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
