TAIB Makes Welfare Contributions At Religious Ceremony

Bandar Seri Begawan - Perbadanan TAIB held a Khatam Al-Quran and "Bersungkai" (breaking of fast) ceremony, at the International Convention Centre in Berakas, yesterday.

Present as guest of honour at the ceremony was Dato Paduka Dr Hj Mat Suny bin Hj Mohd Hussein, Deputy Minister of Development as Chairman of Perbadanan TAIB. Also in attendance was Pg Datin Paduka Hjh Urai bin Pg Ali, Managing Director of TAIB Sdn Bhd and Dato Paduka Hj Ali Hashim bin Hj Daud, Chief Executive Officer of DANA (Fund).

The ceremony began with the handing over of"Ceruman Pelan Takaful Siswa Khas" for Orphans by Perbadanan TAIB for the year 2006, with a total contribution of B$68,100.00.

Another contribution totalling B$3,722.78 from officers and staff of Perbadanan TAIB as well as TAIB Petrol Station for the Pengiran Muda Mahkota A1Muhtadee Billah Orphans Fund was also presented by the guest of honour.

The Khatam Al-Quran ceremony was led by Pg Hj Haslin bin Pg Hj Ali and ended with the "sungkai" ceremony and mass Maghrib prayers.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
