AF And Cinta Kolesterol Cakes For Hari Raya

Bandar Seri Begawan - Cakes with exotic names like "Cinta Kolesterol" and "Akademi Fantasia" can be found at a bazaar specialising in homemade cakes and biscuits currently held at the Youth Centre in the capital.

Organised by WI or Women Institute of Brunei, the sale will be held until the last day of Ramadhan.

More than 100 varieties of cakes, rolls and biscuits can be found at the annual activity of the WI.

The women entrepreneurs said they were very pleased with the response from shoppers looking for goodies to serve their visitors during Hari Raya.

Faced with competition from their imported counterparts, local celebrants still prefer homemade cakes and biscuits as they were made according to their taste buds.

"Kuih Mor", Peanut Biscuits and Pineapple Tarts are popular amongst the customers.

A shopper said she came every year to buy the cakes and biscuits for Hari Raya. "This place is a must for me to look for cakes, rolls and biscuits for Hari Raya," she said.

She added that the cakes and biscuits come in different flavours and designs.

"I always ended up buying more than what 1 planned," she said with a smile.
