Chefs Share Pastry Secrets At The Mall

Bandar Seri Begawan - Due to overwhelming response from the public, a second free pastry making demonstration was held at The Mall Food Court in Gadong. The event was organised by Abdul Razak Holdings/The Mall.

Pastry experts from The Rizqun International Hotel taught an audience of about 30 women how to make four different types of pastries during the two-hour demonstration. Chef Badrul Hisham accompanied by his assistance showed the proper way to prepare the pastries and also doled out several tips on how to bake cakes and create toppings.

A question and answer session was held after the demonstration and audience members were presented with a free recipe.

An audience member, Hjh Julia, said she attended the first demonstration session, which was held last week, and came back for more yesterday.

"It is an opportunity for us to enhance our skills and boost our knowledge, especially as there is no charge for attending the session. With the lessons shared by these experts, we can upgrade our skills in making different pastries," she said.

The Mall Manager, Rosalaini Othman, said the free demonstrations, held in conjunction with the fasting month, will continue till the end of the Ramadhan, and encouraged the public to make full use of this opportunity for free cooking lessons.

The next free demonstration will be held October 18, The Mall Food Court, Level 3.
