PMO Hands Out Raya Contributions

Begawan - The Prime Minister's Office and departments under it
held a handing over ceremony for Hari Raya Aidilfitri contributions
yesterday afternoon.
This year's ceremony, organised by
the Management Services Department, took place at the Multipurpose
Hall, Bangunan Bahirah in Jalan Menteri Besar.
The ceremony, which is an annual
event of the Prime Minister's Office and departments under it, aims to
help enliven the Hari RayaAidilfitri festivities its staff and the
underprivileged.
Guest of honour at the ceremony was
Dato Seri Paduka Awang Hj Eussoff Agaki-bin Hj Ismail, Deputy Minister
at the Prime Minister's Office. Also present were permanent
secretaries, deputy permanent secretaries, heads of department, senior
officers and staff of the Prime Minister's Office and departments
under it.
To mark the start of the ceremony,
Awang Sa Bali bin Abas, Director of Management Services Department in
his capacity as chairman of the organising committee, revealed that
this year, contributions amounting to $8,225 had been collected.
He said a total of 44 candidates had
been nominated from the Prime Minister's Office and departments under
it to receive the contributions.
However, after thorough and stringent
assessment using prepared guidelines, only 35 individuals qualified to
receive the contributions, with each recipient receiving a total of
$235.
Contributions were also presented to
representatives of PAPDA, KACA and Pusat Ehsan. The contributions,
which totalled $1,705.69, came from the Prime Minister's Office
Walkathon 2006.
Prior to the presentation of
contributions, a talk on "The Benefits of Donating During Ramadhan"
was delivered by Dr Ustaz Md Shahroni bin Hj Abd Kahar from the
