Sultan Greets Spain On Its
National Day

Begawan - His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal- Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin
Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang DiPertuan of Brunei Darussalam has sent a
congratulatory message to His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain
which celebrates its National Day today.
The Sultan also sent a similar
message to Spain's Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriquez Zapatero. In the
messages sent yesterday, His Majesty expressed his gratitude for the
warm and friendly relations and deep understanding between the two
countries.
His Majesty "wished that this
(relations) will be widened and enhanced in the future for the mutual
benefits of the two countries and peoples," the Prime Minister's
Office said in a statement.
His Majesty also wished Spain's king
and premier continued good health and happiness and prosperity of
their people. Spain's National Day known as Dia de la Hispanidad to
its citizens is celebrated every 12th of October.
Brunei and Spain established official
diplomatic relations on June 10, 1992.
Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince
Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, has also sent
a similar congratulatory message to counterpart Spanish Minister of
Foreign Affairs Miguel Angel Morantinos for the same occasion.
He wished the best for His Majesty
King Juan Carlos I, the government and the people of Spain on their
auspicious National Day.
"I greatly value the warm and
friendly relations that exist between our two countries and I look
forward to future opportunities to continue developing these
much-valued ties," the foreign minister said in his message yesterday.
