Brunei-Muara District Office Presents Donations To Orphans

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Brunei-Muara District Office organised a donation presentation to 1,197 orphans from the district yesterday.

Present as the guest of honour was Dato Hi Md Yusop bin Bakar, Brunei-Muara District Officer. Also present were donors, representatives of donors, Penghulus, Ketua Kampong and senior officers of the Brunei-Muara District Office as well as the orphans and their guardians.

The presentation of donation is a yearly project organised by the Brunei-Muara District Office to care for the orphans and the needy.

Yesterday's donation was the third event this year with the previous two held at mosques in Katimahar and Rimba. Orphans registered with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports received B$100 per person as well as additional cash donations and materials from the sponsors.

The orphans are from mukims of Kianggeh, Serasa, Mentiri, Kota Batu, Lumapas, Berakas A, Berakas B, Kianggeh, Sengkurong, Pengkalan Batu, Gadong, Tamoi, Burong Pingai Ayer, Sungai Kedayan, Sungai Kabun, Peramu and Saba.

Donations from PehinAwg Goh King Chin and PehinAwg Lau Ah Kok were presented by their representatives, J,ake Goh and Lau Ah Teek respectively. Other individual donors included NazeerAhmed Mohamad Zackiriah and spouse and Pengarah Hj Ismit bin Pengarah Mukim Hj Naim.
