Yayasan Primary School Holds Khatam Al-Quran

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Yayasan Primary School held a Khatam al-Quran in conjunction with the fasting month at the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Nursery School's multipurpose hall yesterday.

Over 40 participants comprising primary, religious and nursery teachers participated in the Khatam al-Quran.

The ceremony was blessed with the 'Surah Al Fatihah' read by Ustaz Haji Ahmad Sufrin Haji Emran, followed by the recital of `Takhtim'. Over 650 pupils from Primary 1 to Primary 6 attended the ceremony.

Also present at the ceremony yesterday were His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darrusalam's granddaughters, Pengiran Anak Raheemah Sanaul Bolkiah and PengiranAnak Hariisah Widadul Bolqiah.

The ceremony ended with a 'doa selamat' recited by Ustaz Mohiddin Haj i Momin. The Khatam al-Quran ceremony is part of the school's annual religious activity and is held during the month of Ramadhan. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
