Ministry Of Defence Holds 'Tahlil'

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Ministry of Defence held a 'tahlil' yesterday at the Royal Mausoleum in Jalan Tutong to pay their respects for the late parents of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Al Marhum Sultan Haji OmarAli Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien and Al Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman.

Some 200 personnel comprising Deputy Minister of Defence, Pehin Datu Singamanteri Colonel (Rtd) Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohammad Yasmin bin Haji Umar; Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence, Dato Paduka Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat; Commander. of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof; deputy permanent secretaries of defence, service commanders and commandants, senior officers, officers as well as Mindef and RBAF personnel were present at the ceremony.

Meanwhile, in a separate event yesterday, the Royal Brunei Land Forces held a ‘tahlil' for His Majesty's late parents. Present at the ceremony was Comm?nder of Royal Brunei Land Forces, Dato Paduka Colonel Pengiran Hj Rosli bin Pg Hj Chu Chu, and 200 Royal Brunei Land Forces personnel.

The 'tahlil' was recited by 1st Battalion Ustaz Hj Ahmad. Also holding a `tahlil' for His Majesty's late parents in a separate ceremony at the Royal Mausoleum yesterday were 400 Royal Brunei Navy personnel. Attending the ceremony was Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy, Dato Paduka Colonel Hj Johari bin Hj Matussin.
