Fire Personnel Mark Nuzul Al-Quran

Bandar Seri Begawan - About 400 personnel from the Fire and Rescue Department from all four districts of the country attended a Nuzul Al-Quran ceremony yesterday at the Fire and Rescue Headquarters' Hall at Old Airport, Berakas.

Guest of honour at the ceremony was Pg Hj Mohd Daud Bin Pg Hj Mohammad, Acting Director of Fire and Rescue Department.

The function began with the recitation of al-Fatihah which was led by the head religious teacher of the Fire and Rescue Department, Ustaz Hj Adanan Bin Hj Ahmad.

This was followed by the recitation of the Quran by Hj Juanda Bin Hj Awg Damit.

A religious talk was also given by Ustaz Haji Baharuddin Bin Haji Besar from the Islamic Dakwah Centre on "Keagungan Al-Quran", or the Greatness of al-Quran.

The celebration ended with the presentation of a souvenir to the invited speaker and a doa selamat. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
