Bandar Seri
Begawan - Celebrants who are short of space or time to hold
Hari Raya open houses can alternatively celebrate the festive
gathering at Restoran Soto Rindu in Sengkurong.
According to restaurateur Haji Zainal
Haji Safar, the eatery can be used by individuals and companies as a
venue to hold such celebrations.
"The restaurant will prepare buffet
cuisines, plus Hari Raya cakes, biscuits and special menus," he said.
The restaurant will also be able to deliver Raya dishes to celebrants
who are too busy to cook.
Muslims hold open-house celebrations
for their families, relatives and friends so they can seek forgiveness
from one another. The celebration is also to strengthen ties among
relatives and friends.
During the festivity, houses are
usually decorated and tidied-to receive guests.
Muslims worldwide will celebrate Hari
Raya Aidilfitri on Syawal 1, the first day of a new month following
the fasting period of Ramadhan, which will end in less than two weeks.
The festivity is for Muslims to
celebrate victory after having won over physical and spiritual
temptations by fasting for a month. -- Courtesy of Borneo
