Baking Up A Treat For Raya

Bandar Seri Begawan - As the Raya festivities draw closer, celebrants are busying themselves with last minute preparations -be it shopping for" new clothes and furniture, sprucing up homes, or making biscuits to serve to the guests.

With Raya spendings imaginably high, some families are opting to cut back by baking their own cakes and biscuits.

"For this coming Raya, I have decided to make my own cakes and biscuits. I can do it during my free time, right after I come back from work," said Madam Sah of Delima.

"Besides, I can get greater quantity if I were to make them-myself, " she said.

With help from her daughters, Madam Sah would usually finish baking her biscuits by midnight.

"This makes the process a lot more enjoyable, as we are able to spend family time together," she added. Many people start preparing their Raya goodies right after the breaking of fast.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
