Police Thanked For Swift Action
By Rosli Abidin Yahya
Bandar Seri
Begawan - The recent spate of thefts that affected Kg Junjungan
has seen four men arrested by police for their suspected involvement
in at least 12 break-ins around Mukim Pengkalan Batu.
On behalf of other residents, a
member of the Kg Junjungan Consultative Council expressed his
gratitude to the RBPF for their hard work and determination that led
to the arrests.
He said the villagers would
nevertheless continue to be vigilant and prevent other burglaries.
"There is a possibility that a few burglaries at Kg Junjungan may have
been committed by different people as they were not only interested in
cash but also electronic and electrical items.
"Or there could be a network of them
operating from various areas, but the arrest may cause the rest to lie
low for a while. Therefore, the residents will continue to lock their
houses properly, secure valuables and light up the interiors,
especially when they are out," he added.
Last Friday, the personnel of
Jerudong Police District recovered stolen goods burgled from houses in
Mukim Pengkalan Batu between March and September this year. Four men
aged between 15 and 25 were apprehended for their alleged involvements
in the thefts.
The recovered items included
jewelleries, a Rolex wristwatch, a laptop computer, television sets, a
sound system, mobile phones, computer games, bags and compact discs.
