Bruneians detained in Miri anti-vice raid

Miri - Five Bruneian men among, 79 foreign nationals have been detained by police in Miri in a five-hour operation, which ended early yesterday, to eradicate vice at entertainment centres.

Sarawak Police Commissioner, Datuk Talib Jamal said out of the 171 detained, 83 were women. Of the 83 women, 28 were from Indonesia and the rest from China (26) and the Philippines (7).

He said 70 of the men were locals while the rest were Indonesians (9), Filipinos (4), and Bruneians (5).

He said the foreigners were being held either for suspected drug abuse or using their visit pass to work illegally at the centres.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
