Free Cake Making Lessons

Bandar Seri Begawan - There will be free lessons on cake and bun making from master chef Steven Ang today, October 9 at the cakehouse located above the Hotmart Supermarket in Kiulap, Gadong. The lessons will be divided into two sessions.

In the first session from 1 to 4pm, Ang will teach all present on how make different types of buns while in the second session from 7 to I Opm, they will learn basic cake_ decoration.

Chef Ang has over 30 years of experience in the art of cooking and baking. He has trained thousands of enthusiastic learners in Malaysia, and has conducted cooking classes in Brunei for over ten years.

The bakery offers short and long courses on making breads and pastries, Hong Kong-style dim-sums, Chinese culinary, mooncake, Sarawak kek lapis (layer cake) and agar-agar. Those who enroll for the long-term package will be get a certificate of completion and a grade from the Chef Ang.

Furthermore, students will receive a fifty per cent discount on all cooking courses.

The free classes today are aimed at providing a learning experience for those who come; apart from a demonstration, they will also be given the chance to try out the cooking themselves.

All ingredients and cooking accessories will be provided, and every participant will leave with a recipe of the cooked or baked items. Chef Ang also emphasised that all ingredients to be used during the class are `halal'. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
