Kg Tanah Jambu Residents Hold ‘Gotong Royong' To Clean Cemetery

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Kampong Tanah Jambu Consultative Council as well as the residents of the village, with cooperation from PSA Muara Container Terminal Sdn Bhd, yesterday held a 'gotong royong' (communal undertaking) to clean up a Muslim cemetery there.

Some 50 people took part in the `gotong royong'. First, they built a bridge across a stream to the cemetery, and then proceeded with the cleaning exercise.

PSA Muara Container Terminal was represented by its vice executive chairman Hj Razali Hj Johari and general manager Johari Mohd Sainee.

Wood for the construction of the bridge was sponsored by the PSA Muara Container Teminal.

At the end of the exercise, everyone present recited the 'tahlil', led by the imam of the Kg Tanah Jambu Mosque, Hj Aziz Hj Mohd Yassin.

The day ended with a breaking of the fast at the home of the ketua kampong, Hj Asar bin Hj Barudin. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
