Sheraton's car boot sale a success
By Hurazah Ahmad
Bandar Seri
Begawan - The car boot sale that was recently held at the
parking lot of Sheraton Utania Hotel to help raise funds for UNICEF
immunisation projects in the Asia-Pacific region was a success.
The fundraising activity was
organised by Sheraton's UNICEF team under the leadership of UNICEF
Ambassador Ms Jenny Jee.
This was the second time that the
hotel has organised such an event.
Members of the public who took part
in the car boot sale sold a variety of items ranging from household
items to jewellery to local delicacies. Sheraton's associates also
sold t-shirts, which were sponsored by BAE Systems, for $22.
Registration fees for the sale were donated to the UNICEF fund.
Besides the car boot sale, Sheraton
has also raised money by selling UNICEF `cutie' toys, delivering
packed lunch boxes and organising a baking class.
A donation box can be found at the
hotel's lobby for those who would like to make a contribution to
UNICEF. -- Courtesy of Borneo
