By Malai FadieyRizal

Bandar Seri Begawan - A local woman was fined a total of $4,500, or eight months and four weeks' jail in default after pleading guilty to four counts of possessing uncustomed goods.

Zinal Tuihasikin bte Abdullah, 48, was detained when officers from the Board for Issuing Halal Import Permits with the help of Customs Preventive officers raided her house in Jalan Kerma Negara, Kuala Belait on August 26, acting on a tip-off from the public.

Officers inspected the house and two vehicles within the compound. The inspections uncovered large amounts of uncustomed frozen beef, beef liver, chicken wings, coarse sugar and also 22 cans of beer. All the goods were forfeited to the state for destruction. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
