300 Attends Farmer's Motivation Seminar

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Brunei-Muara Agriculture Development Unit organised a seminar on Farmer's Motivation, the Agriculture Department's second annual project, which was attended by over 300 participants yesterday at the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources.

Brunei's Director ofAgriculture Pg Hjh Mariana Pg Dipa Negara Laila Diraja Pg Hj Abd Momin was present as the event's guest of honour.

It aimed to create an awareness of self-esteem by changing people's mindsets, nurturing the spirit of teamwork, as well as providing knowledge and opportunities to achieve the Human Resources Development's target.

Hj Rafee Hj Shahif, a local graduate from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, presented a paper entitled "Agriculture - Socio-Economy" and Ustaz Ali Hassan Mohammad Said, an officer from the Ministry of Religious Affairs' Dakwah Islamiah Centre, gave his topic, "Agriculture in Islam".

Hj Rafee emphasised the agricultural sector's importance in generating the country's development, while Ustaz Ali Hassan stressed on abiding by the teachings of Islam in any activity related to agriculture. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
