Certificates
By P Marilyn
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Retirement certificates were given to 584 retired
officers and staff from the government sector yesterday during a
presentation held at Dewan Muhibbah, Brunei-Muara District Office.
The event was held for retired
government officers and staff from Division II, III IV and V for the
Brunei-Muara District in conjunction with the l3r' Civil Service Day
this year.
The event began with a speech by Dato
Paduka Awg Hj Md Yussop bin Bakar, Brunei-Muara District Officer. On
hand to present the certificates to the recipients was Dato Paduka Hj
Saifon bin Hj Awg Besar, Director General of Civil Service, who
represented the guest of honour, Dato Paduka Awg Hj Kamis bin Hj Tamin,
Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office.
The event also saw the presentation
of a complaints/ suggestion box, a move initiated by the Management
Service Department to support the Civil Service Day's theme this year,
"Perkhidmatan Awam Mesra Pelanggan". Management Service Director, Awg
Sa Bali bin Abas, presented the box to the Brunei-Muara District
Officer.
The setting up of the suggestion box
is aimed at creating a channel of communication whereby members of the
public can voice their suggestions, complaints or appreciation on
services provided by the government agency.
It is a proactive step taken by the
Management Service Department to bring members of the public closer to
civil service and also to develop good governance while identifying
problems within the civil service and seeking methods to resolve them.
