Chinese Opera Wows Audience In The Capital

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Chinese community marked the Mooncake Festival, one of the most important celebrations in the Chinese calendar, with the commencement of the Chinese opera at the Tua Peh Kong Chinese temple, in the heart of the capital, yesterday evening.

Some 100 people turned up to witness the rare Chinese opera performed by a troupe specially invited from China.

This was the first time that an opera troupe from China is performing in Brunei Darussalam. The Chinese opera is scheduled to run for 15 days. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
