Raya Dressmakers Burn Midnight Oil

Bandar Seri Begawan - With less than three weeks to Hari Raya, many are making early preparations by sending in their orders for festive dresses in advance.

A survey of several tailors and dressmakers in Brunei-Muara District yesterday found that most of the shops have closed their door to new customers as they are overwhelmed with existing orders for dresses.

Awang Mohamad Sardar, Manager of Syarikat MIR-ISMA dan Anak Anak in Kampong Mulaut, said he had to turn down new customers requesting to, make Hari Raya outfits as he was swamped with a huge workload of 500 Hari Raya outfits.

He added that due to the heavy workload, his staff have been forced to work till yarn to finish the outfits on time. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
