Breaking The Fast At Brunei Hotel

Begawan - Brunei Hotel has some special dishes to break the
fast in a Sungkai Buffet.
Three cooks help Chef Ah Hua prepare
appetizers like 'vegetable -spring rolls with curry-flavour',
ulam-ulam, herabu-kerabu with lots of condiments, made in the kitchen
sambals and rojak-mixed local vegetables served with the petissauce or
gravy with peanut and chilli-paste, western coleslaw, western
tung-hoon and salads of the Orient.
The main soup of the day changes
daily: cream of sweetcorn soup, soto ayam, soup ekor, and tom yam,
said Chef Ah Hua.
The main courses are roasted chicken
served with plum-sauce, pakis masak sambal a native vegetable,
mee-mamak, mixed vegetables with beef, sambal mussels panggang, sotong
with sliced ginger and spring onions, nasi kampong, tomato fried rice
and many more. The menu changes every day.
Desserts include pisang pengat, bubur
pulut merah with coconut milk, ais longan, cendol kachang, sliced
Malay kuih muih or traditional Malay cakes and many more.
The buffet is held at the Mawar Cafe
