difference in syllabus content, all participating students competed on
a "country only" basis.
The host's chemistry department gave
complimentary chemistry book awards to all schools participating in
the competition, to promote an interest in and enjoyment of chemistry
amongst Bruneian students.
The quiz aimed to promote and
encourage an awareness of the nature and relevance of chemistry
amongst secondary school students and make them join a challenging and
rewarding activity.
It hoped to build the interest of the
quiz participants in the various developments of chemistry and enhance
the importance of its role in today's society.
Questions for the International
