Brunei Hit By String Of Thefts
Over Last 4 Days

Begawan - Brunei has been hit by a string of thefts over the
last four days. A car was broken into, three mobile phones were stolen
and two vehicles - Toyota Corona and Toyota Carina - were reported
missing.
Three theft cases were also recorded
in Kg Menglait, Jame' Asr Mosque and Kg Delima Satu, where a goat,
four sport rims and a mountain bicycle were stolen. One man was
arrested in connection with these thefts.
Meanwhile, there were also 14 theft
cases reported at a hostel in Belait, Kg Serasa, Perpindahan Lambak
Kanan, Keluyoh Water Tank in Sg Liang, Kg Mentiri, Mata-Mata; Jln
Tungku, Anggerek Desa flat, Jln Madang, Lambak _ Kiri, Aman Complex in
Muara, Kg Tanjong Nangka andAthirah Building in J1nTutong.
Among other things that were stolen
were five mobile phones, a video camera, two cameras, cash, jewellery,
important documents as well as 63 sliding doors, windows and frames.
In a related development, the
Jerudong Police District managed to apprehend three teenagers linked
to break-ins at flats and shops.
The police also arrested a man who
allegedly sent out a slander letter. If found guilty he could face a
maximum five-year jail sentence and a fine.
Other cases include vandalism,
immigration offences and drug abuse. There were also six cases of
causing injury, where five men have been arrested.
There were also 23 road accidents,
nine self-accidents and another one involving a pedestrian. One of the
accidents led to the death of one person, while the other person was
