Ministry Of Home Affairs Holds Religious Ceremony

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Ministry of Home Affairs and departments under it took part in Tedarus al-Quran' and `Khatam al-Quran' ceremonies at Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Mosque in Kg Rimba yesterday.

The religious event was organised by Majlis Perundingan Kampong Rimba with cooperation from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Brunei-Muara District Office and Labour Department.

The guest of honour was Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Dato Awang Hj Adanan. Also present were the village head, orphans and other invited guests.

The `Tedarus' began with the reading of Surah al-Fatihah led by an imam of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Mosque. There were also `Khatam a1Quran' and 'Doa Allah Peliharankan Sultan' prayers.

At the end of the ceremony, "wakaf' (donations) were presented to Raja Isteri Pehgiran Anak Saleha Mosque, which included six standing fans, a vacuum cleaner, a water compressor and a sofa set. Gift bags were also handed over to orphans. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
