Local Teacher Leaves For Japan

Begawan - A local teacher, Awg Mohamad Faizal bin Hj Rashid, is
leaving today to pursue a teaching scholarship in Japan.
He will take up a Japanese language
training course at Nagoya University-from October 2006 to March 2007
and a special training on Teaching Methods at Shiga University from
April 2007 to March 2008.
Mohamad
Faizal is expected to enhance his professional knowledge and skills as
a teacher while also learning about the people and culture of Japan.
The Embassy of Japan hopes he will enjoy his two-year study in Japan
and make life-long friends.
The `Teacher Training Scholarship' is
offered to local, teachers in Brunei Darussalam who wish to study at
Japanese universities for professional development.
The programme consists of a six-month
intensive course in the Japanese language and a one-year special
course at a university in Japan. The special course covers Educational
Management (e.g. Educational Administration and Finance, School
Management), Methods of Education (e.g. Curriculum Development,
Teaching Learning Process System), Study of Special Subjects (e.g.
Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry) and Observational Study (e.g.
Inspection of Various Educational Research Services).
The government of Japan offers
scholarship programmes including postgraduate research courses,
undergraduate courses, professional training and teacher training
