Enforcers Check On Immigration
Offenders

Begawan - Nine foreign nationals were nabbed yesterday by
immigration officers in 15 commercial premises in Mukim Kianggeh, Kg
Kilanas, Kg Kiulap, Kg Rimba, Kg Lambak and Kg Manggis.
An Indonesian woman, two Indian men
and six Filipino women are under further investigation for violation
of the immigration law.
The Law Enforcement Section of
the-Department of Immigration and National Registration said it issued
14 special passes and five summon letters during the operation.
Meanwhile, 25 people will be
investigated on suspicion of working for other employers. If found
guilty, they will be slapped with fines.
The Department of Immigration and
National Registration reminded all employers not to employ immigration
offenders. A senior immigration officer from the law enforcement
section led 21 personnel in conducting Ops Berkas 102 yesterday.
Ailen
Sundiam Acierto, a Filipina, had an immigration chop on her
photocopied passport the validity of which was suspicious. She was
found with two other foreign workers in Kg Manggis. She said her
passport was kept by a friend who works in a house in Kg Manggis Dua.
The friend denied this, and she later admitted her passport was in her
handbag.
Her photocopied passport has many
immigration chops that are suspicious. It is suspected her valid
immigration pass expired on August 12, 2006. She was brought to the
Law Enforcement Section Office in the capital, and detained for
further investigation. Her employer will be investigated.
Yunarti,
an Indonesian, is on a visit pass valid until October 7, 2006. During
the inspection she admitted to be working at a restaurant in Kg Lambak,
Berakas. She' was issued with a special pass and ordered to report to
the Law Enforcement Section.
Melita
Sevillena Rabanillo, a Filipina, with a visit pass for 14 days, Abdul
Aziz, an Indian national with a visit pass valid until October 17,
2006 and Myrna Advicnala, ordered to leave on October 6, 2006, were
caught working at a boutique and tailoring shop in Kg Delima, Berakas.
Wuliati
Tjhin, an Indonesian, guaranteed a maid until February 14, 2007, was
found working at a worker's canteen in Kg Mulaut Kilanas. She was
