Winner Of SEA Write Award Leaves
For Bangkok

Begawan - Retired Senior Language Officer at the Language and
Literature Bureau, Haji Shawal-Rajab, yesterday left Brunei for
Bangkok to receive his SEA Write Award 2005-2007 in Thailand.
His inspiring story, "Value of
Humanity", was picked for the SEA Write Award this year out of 15
books that were evaluated.
Also present at the Brunei
International Airport were Dayang Aminah hinti Haji Motnin, Acting
Deputy Director of the Language of Literature Bureau and Secretary of
the Judging Committee of the SEA Write Award 2005-2007.
This is not the first time Haji
Shawal has been awarded for his literary endeavours.
He was awarded the honorary prize in
"Peraduan Rencana Umum" (General Article Competition), honorary prize
in "Peraduan Menulis Cerpen" (Short Story Writing Competition), and
the honorary prize in "Kumpulan Akhbar Cemerlang", Journalism Course,
Universiti Malaya. He also came in firstin the "Peraduan Menulis Sajak"
(Poetry Writing Competition) in conjunction with Nuzul Al-Quran 1400
