Muslims in Brunei can now own
luxurious property in Mecca, through the Abraj Al-Bait project, which
is a complex of seven high-rise blocks located about 100 metres from
Masjidil Haram.
The objective of the project is to
gather funds for the two Holy Mosques in Mecca and Medina.
"Profits from this project after 24
years will be used for the benefit of the two mosques," said Roslan
Osman, project director of the Singapore-based Oasis Properties Pte
Ltd.
"We are the principal marketing agent
in Southeast Asia for two towers in Abraj Al-Bait, namely the Hajar
and Zamzam Towers. We are also pioneers in bringing property from
Makkah Al Mukaramah into Southeast Asia."
The suites in Abraj Al-Bait are
elegantly furnished in line with the standards of 5-star hotels.
Designed to correspond to the religious milieu of Mecca, the entrance
of the Abraj Al-Bait opens exactly to the open prayer area outside the
Masjidil Haram.
There are a total of 36 elevators in
Abraj Al-Bait to serve both residents and visitors efficiently, as
well as state-of-the art heating and air-conditioning systems to keep
them in comfort.
There will also be a grand shopping
centre, with 70,000 square metres of floor space, featuring a wide
range of restaurants and shops of well-known brands.
