Wide Range Of Songkets At Galleria YMRM

Bandar Seri Begawan - A wide range of songkets can be found at the Galleria C YMRM in Gadong.

According to the store's supervisor, Mr Rajesh, lots of Muslims have been visiting the store every night to buy songkets, which are one of the cheapest in town. Shoppers from neighbouring countries have made stops at Galleria YMRM, too.

Most of the hand-woven songkets that are stitched with gold threads are from Trengganu and Kelantan in West Malaysia, Mr Rajesh said. He added that many people have been buying the materials in bulk.

Besides songkets, songkoks are also a hot sale at Galleria YMRM, where prices range from $1 to $6.90. Teijin silk from Japan is also available at the store.
