Shutterbugs Capture Moments At
Ramadhan Bazaar
By Rosli Abidin Yahya
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Some 20 members from the Association of Photographers
of Brunei Darussalam (APBD) went around the Ramadhan Bazaar in Gadong
Sunday to take candid shots of people. The group was led by the
association's president, Hj Shamsudin ldris.
Hj
Shamsudin said the group was mostly interested in taking candid shots,
where subjects did not know that they were being photographed.
"Aesthetic pictures are usually obtained in candid shots," he said, as
he zoomed in on a faraway subject.
According to Hj Shamsudin, photos
taken during the outing will be judged. The best photos will be added
to the association's collection, which would be featured in future
exhibitions, he added.
Out of the thousands of photos taken,
it is understandable that only some will be worthy of being put up for
display at photography exhibitions, Hj Shamsudin said, explaining that
photos that fail to make the cut will be studied by members at
workshops. "This will help members learn the rights and wrongs of
photography-taking," he said.
The association has plans to conduct
similiar outings in other countries in the future. -- Courtesy of Borneo
