Conversion Ceremony At Pesatu

Bandar Seri Begawan - A conversion ceremony was held last Friday that saw a Dusun embrace Islam at the premises of Persatuan Saudara-Saudara Baru (Pesatu) in Tutong District.

Thirty-year-old Jefrida Sanang is now known as Muhammad Jefri Abdullah Sanang.

The event began with a recital of syahadah by the convert in the presence of Tutong Dakwah Unit officers Haji Muhd and Haris Fadilah Haji Mahadi.

It was followed by a "dikir merhaban" and a blessing ceremony before Muhammad Jefri broke fast with his family and members of Pesatu.

Meanwhile, also in attendance during Friday's ceremony were Tutong Dakwah Unit chief.Haji Abas Tuah, Tutong Youth Council president Haji Md Zain and Pesatu president Haji Hasbie Azrol Abdullah Liat. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
