Chinese Engineering Association Brings Smiles To Elderly

Bandar Seri Begawan - To mark the Mooncake festival and share the celebration among the elderly, the Belait Chinese Engineering Association recently paid a visit to the old folk's home in Seria to signify the Chinese event.

The visit was part of the association's goodwill annual activities contributing to the special needs community. During the visit, celebrative gifts and `ang-pows' were presented to about ten elderly residents.

The Mooncake festival, one of the Chinese significant festivities which falls on October 6 or the 1511, day of the eighth month in the lunar calendar, is celebrated by the community worldwide.

The Chinese Engineering Association has over a hundred local Chinese members actively carrying out -activities and donations to lend a hand to the less fortunate people in the country. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
