Police Called To Control Midnight
Sale Crowd

Begawan - Thousands of people, some waiting for three hours,
thronged the grand opening of the "Midnight Crazy Sales" in one of the
biggest textiles stores in the Sultanate last Saturday night.
"It was a huge crowd and we came as
early as 7pm," said Hjh Norhayati. She added all her family members
waited for more than three hours for the "midnight sale,"
More than 5,000 people flocked to the
Nazmi Textile Mall, which slashed prices to rock bottom.
Thousands were stuck at the main door
before entering the Mall, and police personnel had to control the
crowd.
Most were attracted to the free Sahur
buffet offered at Faize Restaurant. Some even came with more than 10
family members to dine and they said they were very satisfied. The
seven-hour Midnight Crazy Sale kicked off at 10 pm and every single
people left with a huge smile, when it ended at 4am.
"This was a good opportunity and it
will encourage our people not to fly abroad and this offer came at a
good time when the festive celebration is around the corner," said Hj
Badaruddin.
This will help the country's economy
and stop our money from flowing into neighbouring countries, he said.
The sale at Delima Jaya Complex in
Serusop, Berakas offered cloth, scarves, "sinjang", "songkok" and "baju
melayu." Nazmi give away a free sahur voucher for every costumer.
