Students attend religious course & quiz

The Al-Quran and Amali Ugama Department of the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Arabic Religious Secondary School for Girls (SUAMPRIPAD) yesterday organised a Jenazah guide course for 110 Form Four students, officers and teachers at the school's surau.

Among the aims of the course were to educate students on the religious aspects of 'Fardhu Kifayah', to demonstrate the correct method in performing the divine service for the Jenazah as well as to cultivate their attitudes of responsibility towards the Islamic community.

Dayang Azizah Hj Sulaiman, Dayang Kambar Hj Kadir and Hjh Rosmawati Hj Ismail from the Penggapai Section of the Ministry of Religious Affairs were the presenters for the course.

During the course, there was a practical display of washing and shrouding the body of a dead Muslim and a funeral prayer.

Meanwhile the Addiniyyah Al Mawad Department of SUAMPRIPAD also organised a religious quiz for some 150 Forms One and Two students at the school's Main Hall.

Two teams of five students participated in both the Forms One and Two Sections. Group B emerged as winners in both sections. Students watching the competition also took part in a quiz to test their general knowledge.

The vice-principals of SUAMPRIPAD, Ustazah Hjh Rusita Hj Yahya and Ustazah Hjh Sarimah Hj Ahmad later gave away the prizes to the winners.
