BICTA Expo Features Creative Work
Of Students

Begawan - The Brunei ICT Awards (BICTA) 2005 expo is currently
being held at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the International Convention
Centre (ICC) in Berakas till October 30. Among the eye-catching,
innovative and creative ICT projects showcased this year are works
produced by students from the Sultan Saiful Rijal Technical College (MTSSR).
One such project is a programmable
machine control "Ball Dispenser", which can be programmed to retrieve
and dispense different types of balls by means of a joystick or by
remote control.
Other works of MTSSR students include
interactive educational projects on Heart Disease, Road and Traffic
Safety, Brunei Tourism and Troubleshooting in Computers making use of
the Macromedia Director MX and Flash software.
Another innovative project is the
Primary Assessment (PSR) Web-based Interactive Exam created and
developed by two secondary students, Khairunnisaa Saaniah Haj i
Kamsani and Enita Wardhana Ismuadi.
Using Macromedia Flash and Frontpage,
the product provides quick revision and practice for students
preparing for the PSR exams and contains interactive past years
questions for all subjects in the PSR exams. It can be viewed through
the following URL: http://www.deheritage.com.
Also on display is an educational CD
developed by three teachers from the Dato Basir Primary School
entitled "Bahagian Tubuh Badan". This CD can be used as an additional
teaching resource for Primary One students.
The main objective of BICTA is to
provide a platform to stimulate innovation and creativity and
excellence in ICT among individuals and ICT SMEs. --
