BLNG Appoints New MD

Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd (BLNG) announced that Mr Fred Smeenk has been appointed as Managing Director of Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd with effect from 1st October 2005.

Prior to his appointment Fred, 55 and married with two children was General Manager of Elbe Manufacturing in Germany. Fred is well known to many staff of BLNG from his earlier time with the company as Operations Manager in the 1980’s.

In addition, he has held a variety of leadership assignments in locations and organisations such as Moerdijk Chemicals Manufacturing, Shell Global Solutions, Nigeria LNG and more recently, Elbe.

Awg Hj Mohd Said bin Ahmad meanwhile will take up an overseas appointment with effect from 1st December 2005. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
