Brunei Wushu Exponents To Vie In KL

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Brunei wushu team will be taking part in the 2004 Malaysian National Wushu Championships in Kuala Lumpur from October 28-31.

A flag handing-over ceremony was held yesterday at the Riverview Hotel before they left for Miri Airport.

The guest-of-honourAng Swee Chuan, the Chairperson of Wushu Federation of Brunei Darussalam handed over the national flag to coach Chen Nian En at the ceremony.

Chen will lead the Brunei team comprising of five male and two female exponents. Some of the events that will be participated by Brunei are Taiji Quan, Nan Quart, Nan Dao, Nan Gun, and 42 Taiji Jian.

The championship is seen as a warm-up event for Brunei as they prepare for the 6th Asian Wushu Championships in Yangon, Myanmar from November 20-28. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
