UBD And Majra FC Draw In Friendly

Begawan - The University Brunei Darussalam Football Club played
to a 1-1 draw against Majra FC in a friendly match at the campus
football field on Wednesday night.
The game was aimed at selecting 16
out of the 20 listed players to represent the university at the
upcoming 12th Asean University Games in Surabaya, Indonesia from
December 5-12.
The UBD Football Club players were
from various faculties where 13 out of the 20 played club football in
the B-League.
UBD
took the lead in the 11th minute through Hj Norazalany bin Hj Md
Yassin who played his club football with Sengkurong FC.
Majra
FC were in commanding form in the second half keeping most possession
of the ball but failed to convert their supremacy to goals hitting the
woodwork several times.
In the 78th minute, Majra FC finally
got their equaliser through Abd Azim bin Abd Rahman who scored from
the nearpost to finish the game at 1-1.
According to the UBD Football Club
team manager, Hj Tuah bin Hj Apong the team has been training really
hard as the players are competing against each other and showing their
best in fighting for the 16 available places.
He also said that in the build-up to
the 12th Asean University Games they would play two warm-up games each
week apart from the field training.
UBD
will participate in seven events in this year's 12th Asean University
Games namely football, athletics, badminton, swimming, tennis,
ping-pong and silat. --
