Shorter And Faster Travel Along Tutong-Telisai Highway

Tutong With the opening of the Tutong-Telisai highway and the utilization of the 14-kilometre long road, motorists who always commute through the road can drive with comfort.

The Tutong-Telisai highway was officially opened yesterday morning by Awang Haji Mat Salleh bin Haji Matussin, the Director of Road at the Public Works Department.

The project, estimated to cost around $28.7 million, is implemented and realised under the 8th National Development Plan.

It has two lanes for both ways, linking the Brunei-Muara, Tutong and Belait Districts.

According to Awang Ahmad bin Haji Jair, the Road Engineer, every aspect of safety was taken into account in the process of building the road.

Some of the essential safety features are guardrails, three-meter wide side table for emergency purposes and several u-turns for the convenience of motorists.

Motorists plying this road can reach their destination faster and in a shorter time.

The Public Works Department through the Road Department would also like to advise road users to always adhere to the safety signs and instructions put up along the road and to be considerate while driving. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
